Enrolment and Zoning
A Ministry of Education approved enrolment zone has been adopted by the Board of Trustees and is now in effect.
Home Zone
All students who live within the home zone, as shown on the map, shall be entitled to enrol at the school. A full description of the home zone is available at the school office and on our website.
Proof of residence within the home zone will be required.

Out of Zone Enrolments
Each year the Board of Trustees will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone.The Board will publish this information by notice in a newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. The notice will indicate how many applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received.
Applications for out of zone enrolments will be processed in the following order of priority:

First priority must be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in the above
special programmes

Second priority must be give to applicants who are siblings of current students

Third priority must be given to applicants who are siblings of former students

Fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school
-
Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the BOT or a child of a member of the BOT
-
Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants
Special Programmes
Rotorua Primary has a Rūmaki Reo unit as a special programme.

School Uniform
Rotorua Primary School has a compulsory uniform that must be purchased from The Warehouse. New enrolments have a 2 weeks grace period to purchase uniforms.

Our School Day
School is an everchanging place and no two days look the same. Below is an outline of the key times of our school day.
8.05am - School opens (students to wait in Waharoa/shelter before this time)
9.00am - Classes begin
10.25am - Morning interval (25minutes) Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14
10.55am - Morning Interval (25 minutes) Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15
12.30pm - Lunch break (40 minutes) Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14
1.10pm - Lunch break (40 minutes) Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15
2.00pm - Afternoon interval (10 minutes) Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8, 14
2.10pm - Afternoon interval (10minutes) Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15
3.00pm - Classes end
3.30pm - School closes (All students should have been picked up at this time)
Our school does not finish early on wet days.

If for any reason your child is unable to attend school or is absent at any time, please advise the school office/teacher by either telephone (07-348-8159), email (office@rp.school.nz) or via our school App on the morning of absence or prior to the absence.
