Liz Hogan

My favourite super hero is:

Tangaroa because he provides a home for his tamariki (fish, creatures, and living things in the sea) and he is the sea.

My favourite saying:

"Manaakitia te tangata ahakoa ko wai" - "show hospitality to others no matter who they are or where they are from".

- Ngāti ira, Te Whakatōhea

My favourite song:

Any song from BOB MARLEY - because he is a legend, his songs are universal and his music has great beats, rhythm and most of his songs sing of hope.

Why I became a Teacher:

I love being a kaiako, it's a wonderful place to work with young people. I enjoy listening to and talking with our TAONGA and spending 40 great weeks with them growing towards becoming great learners, 21st thinkers and problems solvers.

What I love to see in the world:

All the rubbish in the world to be recycled, reused, remade into innovative and constructive things.

If I could be a child again what would I do?

have tried harder and I should have helped my Koro pull out many more weeds in his kumara and riwai garden.

My message for the children of Aotearoa

Be encouraged, be strong and courageous...Believe in yourself because you are unique, important and most of all a special treasure

- a taonga.
